Tis the season to go hiking in the Catskills! Fall beauty is just beginning and I am off Wednesday and Thursday to hike as much as I can. If you do make it up here on a mid-week getaway–check out Woodstock’s best kept secret on Thursday nights at The Colony Cafe–Bluegrass! And I mean –bluegrass at its finest!

A beautiful morning up here in the Catskills! Perfect temperature and the fall colors are just beginning. I love this time of year. If you have never checked it out–on Monday nights at The Colony Cafe, Philip Levine hosts the weekly Poetry night. I never regret going when I can make it–the talent up here is incredible. Two of my favorite local talented student film makers will be participating in the 8th annual Woodstock Film Festival this weekend– Philip Dorling, with “Predisposed” and Noria Gugliotta with “Ashes and Bones.” If you can make it up here this weekend–check them out–if they aren’t sold out already!

Just musing on the upcoming Woodstock Film Festival–8 years and really growing! Many of the participants will be staying with us here at the Inn–that is always a lot of fun. Last year I had the honor of meeting the amazing couple whose life story was the subject of the documentary “Steal a Pencil for Me.” And this year… who knows?

The sun came out today–against all predictions! It ended up being a pretty gorgeous day here in Woodstock. On the calendar for this evening—check out the new WKZE concert series right up the street at the Kleinert/James center at 8PM. Just a short walk from the Inn, the center has started a new concert series–if you miss tonight–Ben Vita at 8PM, you can always catch Sat. 10/11 Frankie & His Fingers, or on Sat. 11/15 The Trapps–all great local bands! Not sure if you all know this–but now on Wednesdays in Woodstock we have our very own Farmers Market–complete with music of course. Come on up midweek and check it out Wed. (May-Oct.) from 4-8pm.
peace,
karen

It may be raining but there is still plenty to do here tonight. Great music at The Colony Cafe starting at 9PM. This weekend you can also catch the amazing Garlic Festival in nearby Saugerties, NY–just a short drive and all the garlic treats you can imagine!
