Back to work…

March 30th, 2009 by Innkeeper

Monday morning–sun is shining, wind is blowing through the pines–it’s good to be back to work.  As most of you know the view out my “office” window is not that bad!!  We had an awesome thunderstorm last night with a lot of rain and thus the Millstream is flowing–to say the least!  The weather this week is suppose to be very nice, so come on up, mention the blog and if you book today-Thursday–get a 30% discount.   You can’t beat spring in the mountains!

Tuesday night you can catch local musicians at the Muddy Cup in Saugerties from 7-10 PM.   At the Havana Club (formerly the Pinecrest) Woodstock’s own open mic from 9-12PM.

On Wednesday night at the Varga Gallery,  130 Tinker Street catch “Hipstory” a short film tribute to the 40th anniversary of ‘69–check www.WoodstockMuseum.org for more info.

On Thursday night–Bluegrass Clubhouse  at the Bearsville Theater–some of the finest bluegrass around.

Monday and still on vacation…

March 23rd, 2009 by Innkeeper

Well, I was back for the weekend and now I am off again–4 days to finish up this piece for submission.  I am pleased–after uber processing in my brain, I have come up with something that I love–let’s hope the judges think the same way.  This whole week–again will be sunny and gorgeous in Woodstock–come on up for a visit, see our new “sculpture” in the raw–and enjoy the stream!    This weekend in town–if you have never been to Mirabai Woodstock–now is the time  www.mirabai.com  .  Their collection of books will blow your mind–and while you are there this weekend on Sat. 3/28 you can check out “Crystal Speak–A crystal channeling workshop”  EXPAND YOUR MIND!!  Also, this weekend at the Kleinert/James center (right up the street) you can support Family of Woodstock—and catch “Seeds of Change.”

March 15th, 2009 by Innkeeper

I am off  for a few days to work on some art….YEAH!!!  Hopefully it will turn out the way I envision it—and then I will submit it for the Kingston Biennial—you never know with these things–I always fear the outcome will be a 5th grade science project gone awry….so far so good–I am 1 for 1—had a piece in the Newburgh Outdoor Show a few years back—I am way overdue!  But –enough about me…..You should come up to Woodstock THIS WEEK!! It is going to be absolutely gorgeous weather–perfect for sitting by the stream–with a book, with yourself–or with somebody!  Mention this blog and Bonnie  will give you a 20% discount (monday–thursday).  If you make it up here this weekend–don’t forget  the Bearsville Theater–The M Shanghai String Band CD release–9PM.

Could not wait…

March 8th, 2009 by Innkeeper

Just returned from the Black Crowes concert/recording at Levon Helm’s —HOLY S*#%% TOLEDO!  What an incredible show.  John and I were beyond thrilled to witness these musicians in action.  I don’t know what else to say–it was one of the best concerts I have ever been too–.  I sang (without knowing the words), I danced–and I laughed–they are f**##ing funny–and smart.  Damn, all I could think was –hey, do you need a back-up singer?  Spring has sprung and the crowes are flying….I will miss them.

March 7th, 2009 by Innkeeper

Spring is in the air!  Set your clocks ahead tonight–hurray for daylight savings!  I will be at Levon’s and digging it I am sure!  I have a saturday night off– 2 tickets to see the Black Crowes–what more could a girl ask for?  A great boyfriend, 2 great dogs and 3 hilarious cats–got ‘em.  Oh yeah and a great job!  One more exclamation point —please!

Monday flurries…Wednesday sunshine…

March 4th, 2009 by Innkeeper

It isn’t really adding up to much–just some flurries for us here in the Catskills.  Everything is looking beautiful though with that small covering of snow…and the wind is blowing.  I went down to the creek with Willy and Zelda –just beautiful!  Now Wednesday…what a gorgeous day by the stream with the kids–nothing but blue sky and warmer temps.  This is the last weekend to catch the Black Crowes in concert at Levon Helm’s barn—if you got the ticket.  John and I are two lucky ticket holders, so you’ll read my report on Sunday.  This Thursday at the Bearsville Theater you can catch some of the finest bluegrass around followed by live (as opposed to dead) karoke singing by some of Woodstock’s finest rock stars.  Not to be missed!  On the weekend catch Paula Poundstone –I love to listen to her on  NPR’s “Wait, wait…don’t tell me.”  Boxing on Friday night–not my thing at all.

Remember SPRING is just around the corner!

peace,

karen
